Zonta's Positive Impact on Women's Lives
The Almanac.net

Sporting clays, moving targets, wobbles. Diva's sisterhood and eye and ear protectors. Just a few new terms to store in my mental dictionary.

On a recent Saturday morning, Zonta Club of Washington County hosted its second successful Sporting Clay Shoot. Held at Hunting Hills Lodge near Waynesburg, this fast- growing outdoor sport has become the club's signature event raising funds supporting and benefiting women.

The Clay Shoot is a shotgun and clay target shooting sport often set up to imitate real-life hunting scenarios. First-timers
(including me) surprised themselves when they actually hit the target and found ease at handling a shotgun.

Prior to lining up at the shooting gallery, DIVAs (Texas Women's Shooting Sports) founder Judy Rhodes traveled from Texas to lead the instruction clinic. She was all about the do's and don'ts of handling a shotgun. Judy also offered successful hints for women with no previous hunting experience and those who have been hunting for years.
